Saddler’s Maul, Circa 1800.
This is an outstanding and rare piece of Treen, a Saddler’s Maul, which is a lovely example from the social history of English leather saddle making.
It is constructed from a wonderful piece of Lignum Vitae and has a turned and scratch decorated Ash handle.
It dates to circa 1800 and weighs in at just over 3 Kilograms, truly a monumental piece of its type.
