An extensively well carved birch wood spice jar, from the Gudbrandsdal region, having a fitted lid with scrolling leaves, centered by a raised stem handle. The whole body is extensively carved with protruding scrolling leaves, with a carved band at the base, which is above sectioned and scolloped swept feet. The underside has lathe turnings, and the whole has a good medium colour and patination.
