An interesting early 19th century adjustable bar grate toaster / cooking fork, having four revolving prongs attached to a sliding arm, with a turned fruitwood handle, brass collar and suspension ring. These items hooked onto the bars of a bar grate and were used for toasting bread and cooking small items of meat or game. It is unusual to find one complete in full working order.
