Early 19th Century Hard Wood Afghan Bowl.

A most attractive 19th century Afghan turned bowl that was originally circular, but has shrunk across the grain and become slightly oval in shape. It is made from an indigenous hard wood and has a horizontal rim with deep incised lines. The exterior has three bands of reeded decoration and noticeable lathe turning rings. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
