An unusual 19th Century Swedish Beech Pen or Pencil Box, having a sliding and locking lid. The top and sides have incised flower head decoration and the base has carved initials E.P. The top consists of a swivel section to one end, which allows the rest to slide and then swivel to gain entrance to the interior. The whole has a pale colour and retains a patination.
