Early 19th Century French Partridge Wood and Satinwood Letter Box.

A good quality table top letter box, inlaid with alternate bands of partridge wood and satinwood, having a hinged lid with a brass lock, escutcheon plate and key, that has two cockbeaded openings for letters, divided by decorative brass mounts. The satinwood interior is equally divided horizontally and the base has a gilded leather band on all four sides. The whole has a pleasing colour and retains a patination.
