A lovely small Swedish ladle, carved from a single piece of birch wood. The carved chip carved square section handle, has a central heart with two panels and an open window at the top, which could be used to hang it up. The bowl, of burr wood, adds to its attraction, and the whole has a good honey colour and patination.
Swedish Circa 1840
