An unusual and well turned two part fruitwood sportsman's powder keg, having a slightly oval cylindrical body with moulded turnings, that has a screw fitting acorn stopper. The body, with a screw thread, separates in two sections for filling purposes and the whole has a good colour, as often found with fruitwood items, and a pleasing patination.
An old newspaper cutting in French was inside, showing a picture of four identical different sized measures.
