A well carved screw type nutcracker, having a tapered octagonal ash handle. The top comprises of an oak clenched fist with the hand holding a walnut, with the opposite side open to receive the nut. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
An almost identical one is illustrated in the Art and Character of Nutcrackers by Arlene and George Wagner on page 72.
