A rare Georgian mahogany three section egg cup of traditional classical form, having a protruding and rounded rim. It has a turned and shaped bone collar, above the circular stepped and rounded foot. It is turned in three separate sections and held in place with a screw thread spindle, the end of which can be seen in the interior and on the base, which has fine pole lathe turnings. The whole has an excellent colour and patination throughout.
