A rare rosewood tobacco measure, which were used in tobacconist shops for parcelling up their own tobacco mixture into quarter ounce, half ounce and one ounce rolls. The plunger was raised and then the specially cut paper was inserted and tobacco pressed in and sealed in the paper. The plunger was then pressed down and the little roll ejected, all prepared and ready for sale. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
