A fine whale bone fid, having an end filled with a circular hardwood, probably lignum vitae, beautifully inscribed Sam L Rumney. According to hearsay the Rumney family were whalers from Hull. Further research is needed to authenticate this information and gather further details. It is a serious collector's item.
