A fruitwood carved screw type nutcracker depicting a nautilus shell, with a tapered octagonal handle. The whole has a pale honey colour and retains a patination. An identical nutcracker is illustrated on page 80 in the reference book, The Art and Character of Nutcrackers by Arlene and George Wagner.
