A most interesting Welsh fruitwood love ladle, having a curved handle that is shaped in the form of two hearts, joined by a centre section, all with extremely delicate chip carved borders. The large bowl, darkened through use, has the rare feature on the back of an extension of the handle carved with a hand, all symbolising a token of mortality, friendship and love. It has extremely good contrasting colours and excellent patination.
