A sensational early 19th century fruitwood Welsh love spoon, having delicate chip carving all over the flat handle. There is a small sun hole with rays at the top of the shaped handle, which could be for hanging up. Below is an X cross inlaid with red and blue wax, a pierced daisy wheel below, also singularly inlaid. There is a pair of souls and hearts, divided by a pair of blue wax wine glasses. A further shaped daisy wheel is above the shaped end, and it has a short stem and elongated pointed bowl. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
