A finely made Scottish bicker (drinking vessel), having alternate feathered staves in alder and sycamore, which is stained dark brown by steeping the wood in a peat bog. For a full description see Treen for the Table on page 80, plate 5/2 number 3. The whole has a lovely colour and is in fine condition with a good patination.
