An excellent 18th century well used bowl type sycamore platter, having an angled rim and pole lathe turnings to the front and back. The angled sides have incised line decoration and the whole is noticeably warped, which often occurs when the wood is green and after drying shrinkage cracks and warping occasionally occurs. The whole has an excellent honey colour and good patination.
