A good late 17th century fruitwood pestle and mortar, the mortar has a chamfered rim with moulded turnings and incised lines, and a concave collar above a slightly rounded base. The double ended fruitwood tapered pestle has a central double collar and incised line decoration. Both have a lovely mellow colour and patination.
