A Victorian ash circular grain measure, having an overlapping join. It is stamped on the interior with a crown, VR and number 149, which is recorded as being from the counnty of Buckingham, from the year of 1826 to 1879, when the number was then changed to 196 finishing in 1889. The whole has a good rich colour and patination.
