A most attractive boxwood string barrel in three sections, having a protruding nozzle for the string, and a steel cutter above. The barrel, with bands of reeded decoration, unscrews to house the ball of string, and the base is also separate with a boxwood thread. The whole has a wonderful colour and patination.
