An Extremely Good Quality Regency Period, 19th Century, Rosewood Side Cabinet Of Rectangular Form, The Well Figured Top Having Attractive Brass Moulding To Edge Over Two Upholstered Panel Doors With Foliate Cast Brass Borders, Flanked By Pillars Headed And Footed With Superb Original Ormolu Mounted Decoration, Raised On Elegant Orginal Turned, Tapering Feet.

Quite possibly made as part of a selection of similarly styled furniture to furnish a grand dining room or similar this side cabinet offers a slightly different, more elegant, storage solution to the sterotypical georgian, or regency sideboard. It could also have been made and utilised in drawing rooms and entrance halls as well. This would be particularly good for an entrance hall due to the overall shallow design and would look absolutely fabulous with a pair of brass lamps, or ormolu candelabra on top of it.

Constructed from very high grade rosewood veneers, which contrast beautifully with the brass and ormolu decoration it has real elegance and oozes class and sophistication. It would be a great addition to just about any room of the house.

Overall the condition is very good with just the expected old blemishes on something of this age. The ormulu mounts are particularly striking and the level of detail contained in them is really quite something.

The fabric finish to the doors has been recently replaced and therefore is in excellent condition. However should one wish to change it for a different fabric of their own choosing this would be very simple to have a local restorer, or upholsterer to carry out as the panels just pop out from the back of the doors.

As with all items we offer for sale the side cabinet has been inspected by our traditional antique furniture restorers at our workshops and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale, ensuring that it is ready to place straight into the home or office.
