Regency Rosewood Circular Lamp Table.

A fine quality, 19th century, Regency rosewood occasional lamp table. Having superbly figured, crossbanded, circular top over baluster column with exceptional foliate carved decoration. Terminating on triform base and elegant scrolling carved paw feet and castors.

This fabulous late regency rosewood centre table is really quite beautiful indeed. Clearly the original maker was particularly careful to choose only the best and most decorative rosewood veneers available to him at the time and this has resulted in a most striking design to the top indeed, especially with the contast of the grain direction in the crossbanding.

The various areas of carved decoration are also something which really stand out on this piece, they are deeply carved and show extremely clear definition, which isn't always the case on these little tables. It also boasts its original carved paw feet, another elegant feature.

The table is a great size, big and solid enough to be extremely sturdy indeed, whilst not so large that it would be difficult to find a place to position it. We can actually think of a whole host of different places and uses around the home for it, far too many to list here.

It is in excellent condition, having received a traditional natural wax polish in our workshops by our highly skilled antique furniture restorers before being placed on sale.
