An Unusually Large Regency Period Mahogany Window Seat.
English, circa 1830.
In the manner of Charles Tatham.
The seat framed and panelled over a reeded frieze and supported by reeded legs headed by carved paterea.
This window seat or bench is remarkable due to its size, at nearly five and a half feet long. It has also survived in a remarkable state of preservation, retaining a gloriously untouched colour and patina.
