A fabulous Georgian Regency memorial ring
This beautiful ring is in wonderful condition, it has a closed back typical of the Georgian period and 14 natural seed pearls in a cut-down setting surrounding a small locket containing a lock of plaited hair to the centre.
The ring has fabulous floral shoulders with stylised acanthus leaves (referring to eternal life) and a reeded tapered shank. It is a larger size and was probably originally worn over a glove to show one's wealth and status.
