An exceptional Regency period mahogany side cabinet with ormolu mounts; the well figured top above three frieze drawers which retain their original Bramah type locks with three cupboard doors below flanked by fluted columns which have crisply cast ormolu corinthian columns; raised on a plinth base which has an ormolu running leaf moulding.
Circa 1810
This Regency cabinet is of the finest quality; it is veneered throughout in carefully selected Cuban mahogany and the drawers have the best Bramah type locks. Unusually the columns have ormolu corinthian capitals and the running leaf moulding to the plinth is beautifully crisp. The condition of the cabinet is superb. The mahogany has acquired a wonderful colour and patina and the ormolu retains its original fire gilding.
