An exceptionally fine quality pair of Regency rosewood fire screens of very unusual design. Having exceptional carved decoration to frames, enclosing original needlepoint tapestries above glazed panels. Raised on carved cabriole legs with original brass castors.

The quality of these screens is really quite exceptional. Constructed from a very high density grade of rosewood and with quite stunning carved decoration everywhere you look, they have clearly been produced in one of the most respected early 19th century cabinet makers workshops.

They also come with elegant needlepoint tapestry decoration, both of which appear to be original, but we cannot absolutely guarantee this. Overall the condition is good and they have clearly been well loved and well looked after over the many years of their life.

It is extremely rare to find any pair of fire screens which haven't been split up over their history and its even rarer to find a pair as exceptional as these which still remain together.

In modern times they would of course add a very elegant, decorative and classy touch to any space around the home even if not being used for their original purpose.

As with all items which we offer for sale they have received a natural wax polish by our highly skilled traditional furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, ensuring that they are ready to be placed straight into the home.
