Condition report

A very rare architectural glazed breakfront dresser with a well moulded cornice above three six panel glazed doors, with sliding action and an internal shaped canopy, the heavy waist moulding sits above an enclosed base with three frieze drawers two panelled doors flanking a central blind panel. This piece retains much of the original historic exterior painted surface, which has been historically dry scraped of later surfaces and shows evidence of much wear and use, the drawers retain their original escutcheons and hinges, whilst the heavy oval cast brass pulls are later replacements, the interior has been later estate re-painted in a Georgian blue colour, and the simple plinth moulding to the base is probably also an historic estate replacement. This delightful piece comes with direct provenance to two respected collections of vernacular furniture, over the past forty years and benefits from rare small scale, exceptional proportions and fine architectural detailing.
