Very rare late nineteenth century Italian silver champagne bottle holder (800 purity) made in c1895.
It is beautifully pierced to the base and the collar and is in excellent condition.
At the time that this was made it would have been used by the butler to avoid warming up the champagne and pour it at the correct angle.
Will be a wonderful talking point and display piece. Champagne holders in silver are rare as they are more commonly silver plated.
