A Rare Henry VIII Oak Inscribed Panelled Chest. English. Circa 1530.

This fine Tudor oak chest is in a wonderful untouched condition, the three panelled lid has large iron hinges above a front with two portrait panels centred by a pomegranate panel and an oak leaf panel. The top and side rails carved with the inscription in black letter script “give to the por for the lords sake”.

One of only a handful of this type of Tudor chest in existence.
