THIS BEAUTIFUL SMALL DUGOUT CANDLE BOX DATES FROM 1480-1520. CARVED TO THE FRONT WITH THREE GOTHIC TRACERY ARCHES, THE CENTRAL ARCH CARVED WITH A FACE OF THE MOON, MOST PROBABLY WITH REFERENCE TO NIGHT FOR WHEN ITS CONTENTS WOULD BE USED. WONDERFUL COLOUR AND PATINATION.
