An elegant and rare early 19th Century Scandinavian burr root maple drum table on splayed triform base.
Scandinavian circa 1820.
The circular top with rarely seen figured root maple segmented veneer and central roundel inlaid with fine ebonised and boxwood chequered stringing, over a frieze containing two long lockable drawers flanked by quadrant drawers, each veneered in bird’s eye maple within an ebony strung and crossbanded surrounds with ebonised turned knob handles.
The whole raised on triform base of tapering shaped and splayed legs joined by a central undertier and terminating on castors.
A wonderfully impressive drum top table with a finely chosen rare figured root maple veneer, of elegant form having a superb colour and patination.
