A superior quality Queen Anne period, burr walnut bureau in superb condition and of outstanding colour with curly grain figuring and deep, rich patina. The shallow sloping fall enclosing a well-executed stepped interior with small drawers and pigeon-holes surrounding a well. Below, there are two short drawers and two long drawers all with original handles, escutcheons and locks. It stands on a generous base moulding and four replacement bun feet. Decorated throughout with feather-banding and 'thumb-nail' mouldings around the drawers.
An exceptional example of an early bureau, worthy of the most fastidious of collectors.
Circa 1710.
