A powerful, large Japanese Bronze and multi-metal Okimono of an Eagle (Circa 1880).
A large, dramatic Bronze and Multi-metal depiction of an Eagle. The bird, with wings out-stretched, (an impressive 96cm across) head stooped and menacing demeanour stands on a fantastic root wood base. He looks to be scanning for prey and primed to take to the skies. The eyes, talons and beak picked out with Gold, Shakudo patination and other precious metals.
Unusually, this Okimono carries no signature.
