The large Piero Fornasetti plate depicts a large hot air balloon with a panel describing the image - 1825/ In Paris/ Margat Rised Pickapack/ of the stag "Zephir".
Mark: Image of hot air balloon with the number 9 on its side and below Mongolfiere/Fornasetti/Milano/Made in Italy and to the right the Fornasetti hand and brush.
Reference: The name of the pattern comes from the first hot air ballooner-on 21st November, with a balloon made by two French brothers, Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier. A balloon was launched from the centre of Paris and flew for a period of 20 minutes- The birth of hot air ballooning.
