Piero Fornasetti Cat on Books Metal Umbrella Stand,
1955.
The charming early model of the stand depicts a cat perched atop a pile of books made of enamelled and lithographed aluminum. On the reverse is a demi-lune bar to support walking sticks and umbrellas and the original removable drip pan - both in a dark green.
Dimensions: 28 1/2 inches high x 17 1/2 inches wide at base (11 1.2 inches at top) x 7 1/2 inches deep.
Mark: an early Gold sticker with black writing for Piero Fornasetti.
