Piero Fornasetti Afghan Hound Umbrella Stand, "Levriero Afgano",

1950s

The Afghan Hound Umbrella stand, "Levriero Afgano" is created with a curved piece of sheet metal lithographically printed with the image of an Afghan hound.  It is secured to the frame at the back with a cap screw and two metal prongs to the base.  The original drip pan is placed in the lower section of the frame.".    This is a very early example of this model.

Condition report

There is typical wear and tear with some minor rust to the lower edge and loss, as can be seen in the photos to the gilt, creating a charming shabby chic look.
