A gold portrait pendant set with an enamel portrait miniature of Henry IV (1553-1610) King of France.
French or Swiss, late 19th century.
Measures 4.6 x 3.5cm excluding loose bail.
The French king is depicted wearing a fine lace ruff and clothes of rich red velvet, around his neck is a blue silk guilloché enamel ribbon from which suspends a diamond set Maltese cross.
The miniature is framed by a border of champlevé enamelled blue fleur-de-lis alternating with diamonds.
