A pendant ceiling light in 'doppia incalmo' glass with a broad vivid orange band fused to the smoky coloured spherical body, having the original brass stem and ceiling attachment, designed by Ludovico Diaz de Santillana, for Venini.
Italy circa 1970.
The architect, Ludovico Diaz de Santillana, was Paolo Venini's son-in-law. After Paolo died in 1959, the continuity of the Venini name was entrusted to Ludovico, who continued to innovate and explore with the help of young and talented international designers such as Toni Zuccheri and the Finn, Tapio Wirkkala.
