Directors Notes

Born in London in 1923, Val Bennett currently lives in Powys, South Wales. He has been fascinated by the beauty of Wildfowl from an early age and began making models in 1950.

He was commissioned the following year to make a set of birds for the Festival of Britain Exhibition, but it was not until 1973, after a career in the aircraft industry, that he decided to make a new full time career in the artistic field.

Since 1976 he has been a regular exhibitor at the British Game Fair, as well as Maryland’s Waterfowl Festival. Exhibitions of his work have been held in London, Paris, Holland and Guernsey.
