A pair of magnificent Victorian silver four-light candelabra made in Sheffield in 1885 by Frederick Elkington.
The candelabra are very much in the Neoclassical Robert Adam taste of the 1770’s and stand on bold plain square bases with an upper bead border and above this they are beautifully decorated with swags, bows and medallions to each side.
The stems are of Corinthian column form. All the circular bead nozzles are detachable and the candelabra can be used as a three light by placing the detachable urn finial into the central nozzle.
The candelabra are in quite superb condition by one of the best silversmiths of the period with all the detachable nozzles and central detachable urns correctly hallmarked.
