A fine pair of large early George III silver Corinthian column candlesticks made in London in 1764 by Emick Romer .The candlesticks stand on square bases with decorative chasing and on one side bear the crest of the original owner in a cartouche.The detachable nozzles are similarly crested.The capitals are finely pierced(a feature that is generally only found on column candlesticks of the 1760s and1770s)They are in good condition well hallmarked on the bases and detachable nozzles and made by one of the most famous silversmiths of the period -Emick Romer who was Norwegian by birth.
