A fine pair of Georgian silver beaded basting/gravy spoons made by Richard Crossley of London in 1805.The spoons of are of an elegant shape and still bear the original armorials and initials of the owners. The spoons were clearly given as a wedding present in 1805 as at the end we have two family crests ( signifying the joining of the two families- the husband’s crest would be the hedgehog and the wife’s the lion)The gothic initials below this would be the donors initials and below this would be the husband and wife’s married initials. The spoons are in excellent condition by a fine specialist flatware maker in Richard Crossley and made in the year of the Battle of Trafalgar.
