A very fine pair of George III Chippendale period giltwood open armchair. In the neo-classical taste, each carved with husk trails overall, the medallion-shaped back centred by flowerheads, above outswept arms with scroll terminals and scrolled supports, on fluted baluster legs and tapering feet. With upholstered seat, back and arm rests.
With batten carrying-holes and cramp cuts to the undersides, and exposed back struts to the rear.
