A pair of Black Forest game plaques, one carved a fox and a pheasant, the other with a hare and duck.  Swiss, circa 1880.

According to Arenski, Daniels and DanielsSwiss Carvings ‘The Art of the Black Forest’, 1820-1940, London 2004, pages 44, the predominant carver of game plaques was Johann Flück of Brienz and there are numerous examples of his work on pages 86-87.
