A Rare Pair of Barr Flight Barr Worcester porcelain candlesticks. CIRCA 1807-13. Illustrated from Cowper’s Poems
Each of six sided base form with scrolling classical gilt work and white pearl bands, and with a central full colour painted vertical, rectangular vignette, depicting a woodsman and a female in a barren landscape. This rare pair of candlesticks are fully marked Barr Flight & Barr Royal Porcelain Works Worcester– London House No:1 Coventry Street, and annotated with: “Kate is Craz’d” & “Forth Goes the Woodsman, leaving unconcerned. The cheerful haunts of man.”
