Pair of rare and unusual large early Silver George III Tapersticks made in 1771 by Ebenezer Coker of London. The tapersticks are larger than is usual and are of classic Corinthian column form. The bases are decorated in a rare rococo arrangement with a Lion’s head on all four sides amidst swags. On one side of the bases there is a cartouche which is finely engraved with an original family crest. The capitals are pierced which is a nice feature and the bases still retain their original mahogany inserts which are fixed with their original small pins. The detachable nozzles are marked one and two as well as the tops of the tapersticks which are marked in a similar fashion. They are a fine pair by a well known silversmith.
