After Louis Marie Moris (1818-1883).
A finely cast gilt bronze sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte astride his favourite horse, Marengo. Napoleon is depicted in his uniform of Circa 1810 with the medal of Legion D'Honneur on his chest. Standing on a white marble plinth.
The sculptor Louis Marie Moris was born in Paris in 1818. He was a pupil of Pardier and Lequien. Moris exhibited at the Salon from 1857 to 1869.
