Clifford Bird’s informative book ‘Norfolk and Norwich clocks and clockmakers’ lists John King as having worked first in Great Yarmouth then later at Kings Lynn. There is a marriage notice in the Norfolk chronicle recorded as follows:

On September 20th 1820, John King of Great Yarmouth, clock and watchmaker and Miss Iveson, daughter of the Reverend Mr Iveson of Kings Lynn.

John King is listed in the census of 1822 and 1830 as working from market place Great Yarmouth. It appears that he moved to Kings Lynn around 1840 where he is listed as working from 9, High Street.
