A rare mid 15th Century Bath stone carved Head of a Jester
English, circa 1450 - 1460.
The deeply sculpted Oolitic Limestone head with recessed eyes, a broad nose and decorated collar, with remainder of ornamented hat.
The face with quasi comic expression, very likely a Jester. Originally a label stop or buttress corbel.
