Marion Rodger Hamilton Harvey (1886-1971) was born in Ayr. She was an accomplished Scottish artist based in Glasgow and a regular exhibitor at the RSA, GI and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Harvey specialised in the portraiture of dogs and horses, often commissioned, and was known to work in oils, pastel, watercolour and etching.
"Shut Out" is a charming proof etching of a pup. Signed lower left in pencil, it is mounted, unframed, and has the original label with title and artist information intact.
